Book Reading and Reflections with Vickie MacArthur and Cat Charissage
Local author, Vickie MacArthur (author of Lotus on Fire) will read from her contribution to the book, “Tears Become Rain”, a collection of 32 mindfulness practitioners from around the world who reflect on encountering the extraordinary teachings of Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh, who passed away in January 2022, exploring themes of coming home to ourselves, healing from grief and loss, facing fear, and building community and belonging.
Also, local author Cat Charissage will read from her new book, “Wildflower Seeds: The Beauties of a Reflective Life” Her book shows us why and how to adopt a 20 minute a day practice of reflecting on the truly important things, analyzing why life so often seems to work against us, and listening for the deep wisdom within that brings peace and direction. It offers inspiration for nearly 100 practices for those times where we steal ourselves away form the overculture’s demands in order to claim both inner and outer liberation.
